  • Beethoven - The Famous Turkish March

ISTANBUL SYMPHONY by ISTANBUL PHILHARMONIC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OL_kD4k-WA4 "The Turkish sound captured the imagination of the Viennese masters, who attempted to re-create it in their orchestral and theatrical works. Haydn wrote three military symphonies, Beethoven composed three orchestral works with Turkish percussion (including his monumental Symphony No. 9, which has a Turkish march in the last movement), and Mozart and Haydn, among others, used this military sound in their operas. The Janissary chorus [from Die Entführung] is all that can be desired, that is, short, lively, and written to please the Viennese. The influence was felt even in piano music—notably in Mozart's appealing Rondo alla turca from his Sonata in A major, which we will hear. So popular was this style th...

  • Ludwig van Beethoven-9 Variations in Cm on a march by Ernst Dressler,WoO 63

Some time after 1779, Beethoven began his studies with his most important teacher in Bonn, Christian Gottlob Neefe, who was appointed the Court's Organist in that year. Neefe taught Beethoven composition, and by March 1783 had helped him write his first published composition: a set of keyboard variations (WoO 63).Beethoven soon began working with Neefe as assistant organist, first on an unpaid basis (1781), and then as paid employee (1784) of the court chapel conducted by the Kapellmeister Andrea Luchesi. • Beethoven's last substantial work: String Quartet no. 16 (superb quality!)

The String Quartet No. 16 in F major, op. 135, by Ludwig van Beethoven was written in October 1826[1] and was the last substantial work he finished. Only the last movement of the Quartet op. 130, written as a replacement for the Große Fuge, was written later. The op. 135 quartet was premiered by the Schuppanzigh Quartet in March 1828. The work is on a smaller scale than his other late quartets. For the third movement, Beethoven used variation techniques; he also did this in the second movement of his Quartet op. 127.[2] Under the introductory slow chords in the last movement Beethoven wrote in the manuscript "Muß es sein?" (Must it be?) to which he responds, with the faster main theme of the movement, "Es muß sein!" (It must be!). The whole movement is headed "Der schwer gefaßte Entschluß...

  • Little Known Yet Beautiful Beethoven Song

Beautiful piece by Beethoven for the piano. Title: " Andante Favori in F WoO 57 ". It was originally composed for the 2nd Movement of the Waldstein Sonata no. 21, but upon his friends' remarks that it was too long to fit into that particular sonata, he decided to remove it. It was later published as an individual piece. It is one of my favorite pieces for the piano, and I also believe it is one of Beethoven's best piano works. I believe it is highly underestimated and little known, even by fans of classical music. WoO is a name given to any Beethoven piece with out an opus number. When abbreviated, works without opus is WoO. Unlike WoO, opus numbers apply to any composer, not just Beethoven. Opus is Latin for "Work". Thus a classical song's "opus number" (sometimes abbreviated op. #) is si...

  • Beethoven, All full symphonies

Ludwig van Beethoven (Bonn, December 16, 1770-Vienna, March 26, 1827) was a composer, conductor and pianist German. His musical legacy includes, chronologically, from the classical period to early musical romanticism. It is one of the most important composers of music history and his legacy has had a decisive influence on later music. Considered the last great representative of Viennese classicism (after Christoph Willibald Gluck, Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), Beethoven managed to transcend the music of romanticism, influencing diversity of musical works of the nineteenth century. His art was expressed in numerous genres and even symphonies were the main source of its international popularity, it proved to be especially significant impact in his works for piano and chamber mu...

So popular was this style that some nineteenth-century pianos featured a "Janissary pedal" to add percussive effects. (...) The fascination with Turkish music affected the makeup of the Western orchestra by establishing percussion instruments of Turkish origin (bass drum, cymbals, bells, triangle) as permanent members of the ensemble. It's hard to imagine an orchestra today without them! The Turkish Janissary ensemble also influenced the military band in the West; these same instruments now form the heart of every marching and concert band. Beethoven was fascinated by another Turkish musical tradition—this one a mystical religious ceremony to which he alluded in his incidental music for the stage work." Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata (FULL) - Piano Sonata No. 14 http://www.facebook.com/9Beethoven https://twitter.com/YtAndrearomano6 The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C♯ minor "Quasi una fantasia", op. 27, No. 2, by Ludwig van Beethoven The sonata has three movements: 1 mvt: Adagio sostenuto. 2 mvt: Allegretto (click to go at 6:00 min). 3 mvt: Presto agitato (click to go at 8:05 min). Adagio sostenuto The first movement, in C♯ minor, is written in an approximate truncated sonata form. The movement opens with an octave in the left hand and a triplet figuration in the right. A melody that Hector Berlioz called a "lamentation", mostly by the right hand, is played against an accompanying ostinato triplet rhythm, simultaneously played by the right hand. The movement is played pianissimo or "very quietly", and the loudest it gets is mezzo forte or "moderately loud". The adagio sostenuto has made a powerful impression on many listeners; for instance, Berlioz said of it that it "is one of those poems that human language does not know how to qualify. The work was very popular in Beethoven's day, to the point of exasperating the composer himself, who remarked to Carl Czerny, "Surely I've written better things. Allegretto The second movement is a relatively conventional scherzo and trio, a moment of relative calm written in D-flat major, the enharmonic equivalent of C♯ major, the more easily-notated parallel major of C♯ minor. Franz Liszt described the second movement as "a flower between two chasms."[citation needed] The slight majority of the movement is in piano, but a handful of sforzandos and forte-pianos helps to maintain the movement's cheerful disposition. Presto agitato The stormy final movement (C♯ minor), in sonata form, is the weightiest of the three, reflecting an experiment of Beethoven's (also carried out in the companion sonata, Opus 27, No. 1 and later on in Opus 101) placement of the most important movement of the sonata last. The writing has many fast arpeggios and strongly accented notes, and an effective performance demands lively and skillful playing. It is thought that the C-sharp minor sonata, particularly the third movement, was the inspiration for Frédéric Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu, which manifests the key relationships of the sonata's three movements. Of the final movement, Charles Rosen has written "it is the most unbridled in its representation of emotion. Even today, two hundred years later, its ferocity is astonishing. Beethoven's heavy use of sforzando notes, together with just a few strategically located fortissimo passages, creates the sense of a very powerful sound in spite of the predominance of piano markings throughout. Within this turbulent sonata-allegro, there are two main themes, with a variety of variation techniques utilized. Beethoven's pedal mark See also: Piano history and musical performance, Mute (music), and Piano pedals#Beethoven and pedals At the opening of the work, Beethoven included a written direction that the sustain pedal should be depressed for the entire duration of the first movement. The Italian reads: "Si deve suonare tutto questo pezzo delicatissimamente e senza sordino". ("One must play this whole piece [meaning "movement"] very delicately and without dampers.") The modern piano has a much longer sustain time than the instruments of Beethoven's day, leaving for a rather blurry and dissonant tone. One option for dealing with this problem is to perform the work on a restored or replicated piano of the kind Beethoven knew. Proponents of historically informed performance using such pianos have found it feasible to perform the work respecting Beethoven's original direction.

Perhaps one of Beethoven's most popular pieces-"Fur Elise" (translated into For Elise). The picture is one of Beethoven when he was a middle-age man (fairly old, but nowhere close to done as far as musical accomplishments are concerned). Thank you for watching.

Beethoven - Symphony No. 5 (FULL) - Symphony No. 5 in C minor http://twitter.com/YtAndrearomano6 http://www.facebook.com/9BeethovenFan page: 1 First movement: Allegro con brio 2 Second movement: Andante con moto 3 Third movement: Scherzo. Allegro 4 Fourth movement: Allegro The Symphony No. 5 in C minor of Ludwig van Beethoven, Op. 67, was written between 1804–1808. It is one of the best-known compositions in classical music, and one of the most frequently played symphonies. First performed in Vienna's Theater an der Wien in 1808, the work achieved its prodigious reputation soon afterward. E. T. A. Hoffmann described the symphony as "one of the most important works of the time". The symphony consists of four movements. The symphony, and the four-note opening motif in particular, are known worldwide, with the motif appearing frequently in popular culture, from disco versions to rock and roll covers, to uses in film and television. Since the Second World War it has sometimes been referred to as the "Victory Symphony". "V" is the Roman character for the number five; the phrase "V for Victory" became well known as a campaign of the Allies of World War II. That Beethoven's Victory Symphony happened to be his Fifth (or vice versa) is coincidence. Some thirty years after this piece was written, the rhythm of the opening phrase – "dit-dit-dit-dah" – was used for the letter "V" in Morse code, though this is probably also coincidental. The BBC, during World War Two, prefaced its broadcasts to Europe with those four notes, played on drums. The Fifth Symphony had a long development process, as Beethoven worked out the musical ideas for the work. The first "sketches" (rough drafts of melodies and other musical ideas) date from 1804 following the completion of the Third Symphony. However, Beethoven repeatedly interrupted his work on the Fifth to prepare other compositions, including the first version of Fidelio, the Appassionata piano sonata, the three Razumovsky string quartets, the Violin Concerto, the Fourth Piano Concerto, the Fourth Symphony, and the Mass in C. The final preparation of the Fifth Symphony, which took place in 1807–1808, was carried out in parallel with the Sixth Symphony, which premiered at the same concert. Beethoven was in his mid-thirties during this time; his personal life was troubled by increasing deafness. In the world at large, the period was marked by the Napoleonic Wars, political turmoil in Austria, and the occupation of Vienna by Napoleon's troops in 1805. The symphony was written at his lodgings at the Pasqualati House in Vienna. The final movement quotes from a revolutionary song by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle.

The whole movement is headed "Der schwer gefaßte Entschluß" ("The Difficult Decision"). It is in four movements: Allegretto Vivace Lento assai, cantante e tranquillo "Der schwer gefaßte Entschluß (The difficult decision)." Grave, ma non troppo tratto (Muss es sein?/Must it be?) -- Allegro (Es muss sein!/It must be!) -- Grave, ma non troppo tratto -- Allegro ----------------------------------------------------- The text above is offered by courtesy of Wikipedia, under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License. #) is simply a published works' number. Opus numbers are always in chronological order from the first published works of a composer to the last. Also, I realize this is not a song as it has no singing. The title is merely meant to help an average person find it, so that beauty of music can be experienced and felt by more people.

His art was expressed in numerous genres and even symphonies were the main source of its international popularity, it proved to be especially significant impact in his works for piano and chamber music. Its production includes the pianistic genres (thirty-two piano sonatas), camera (sixteen string quartets, trios seven ten sonatas for violin and piano), vocal (lieder, two Masses and Opera: Fidelio), Concertante (five concertos for piano and orchestra, one for violin and orchestra) and orchestral (nine symphonies, overtures, etc.), among which is the cycle of nine symphonies, including the Third Symphony, also called in Castilian heroic in my ♭ higher, the Fifth Symphony, to a lesser and do Ninth Symphony in D minor (whose fourth movement is based on the Ode to Joy, written by Friedrich von Schiller in 1785).
